Meet Rachel & Dan Faithfully Trusting to be UNIQUELY BLESSEDJune 10, 2015 by Artworks Tulsa Photography | Blog
RACHEL & DAN LONG TO BE PARENTS!
“Dan and I met in January 2006 when we both changed our major and had 4 classes together. One of the classes was big enough that it split into two sections and Dan waited to see what section I went to before he decided for himself. Needless to say he went to the same section that I chose…and the rest is history!”
They married in July of 2009. Launched Dan Phillips Photography as a husband and wife team in 2007. They began trying to conceive in 2012.
After suffering from 2 miscarriages, Rachel had surgery to remove her right ovary and fallopian tube. She had a cyst the size of a baseball due to her doctors neglecting to watch the cyst after it was found. Rachel & Dan started trying to conceive immediately after she was healed from the surgery and a year went by with no luck.
“Our first miscarriage was devastating as it would have been our first child.”
They finally found a doctor in the office that took the initiative to make a plan for them and referred them to a fertility clinic.
“We went through 3 unsuccessful rounds of intrauterine insemination.”
Just this past week they had their preliminary in vitro fertilization (IVF) doctor visit where they went over financials, consent forms and made a timeline. To their disappointment, they found out that Rachel will have to have another surgery to remove her left fallopian tube due to it being inflamed, collecting fluid, and not allowing her eggs to pass through. The next step after this surgery will be waiting for her first cycle to start. Then, they will move forward with scheduling the egg retrieval process for IVF. When I asked them if they have advise for someone else going through this process, they said…
“Keep the faith even when you feel like there’s no light at the end of the tunnel.
No matter how much we try and plan our lives
(I wanted to be done having kids by the time I was 25….I’ll be 29 this year…)
God has another plan for us. -Jeremiah 29:11”
“Our photos mean the world to me.
The photos capture us in our current phase of this crazy thing we call life.
Meeting Jimmy and Rebecca was one of those God things…
Putting people in our life having gone through a similar situation. ”
“Moving on to IVF is exciting and nerve wracking all at the same time – we can’t wait to begin our IVF journey!”
Rachel and Dan, thank you so much for allowing us to share your journey. You are so BRAVE and we hope and pray that the desires of your hearts are fulfilled quickly. The Lord is faithful and we are all praying for you! Please let Rachel & Dan know that you are supporting them!
Looking forward to blogging a follow-up story VERY SOON!
